Tajuddin bin Abdul Rahman is a Malaysian politician. He is also the incumbent Member of Parliament of Malaysia for the Pasir Salak constituency in the state of Perak since 2008 and a former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry.

Biography

YB Dato’ Sri Haji Tajuddin Bin Abdul Rahman was appointed as Group Chairman on 11 May 2020.

A graduate of University Malaya with an honours degree in Economics, he joined the Malaysian Civil Service upon graduation in 1972; serving as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer (PTD) at the Public Services Department in Kuala Lumpur. After a one-year stint, he ventured into the corporate sector; taking up an offer to become the Sales Manager at Cycle & Carriage (M) Sdn Bhd. After two years, he was promoted to Marketing Manager at the high-profile company, which was the sole distributor of Mercedes and Mitsubishi passenger cars.

Having developed a strong interest in the automotive industry and the confidence of working on his own, he established United Assembly Services Sdn Bhd in 1977 to distribute Mercedes and Mitsubishi commercial vehicles. Business grew and he expanded his stake in the industry by setting up Kumpulan Syarikat Automotive Corporation and United Straits Fuso Sdn Bhd in 1979 to establish himself as a major player.

Dato' Sri also held key roles in property development. His experience in the corporate world includes directorship at State Economic Development Corporation; and at Asia Brands Corporation Berhad. He was the Executive Director for Maju Perak Holdings Berhad between 2009 and 2011; and the Chairman of Felcra Berhad from October, 2008 to May, 2013. He is also active in the academic field; having founded TAJ International College in Ipoh, Perak.

A respectable political figure, he is the Member of Parliament for Pasir Salak since 2008. He was also Perak State Assemblyman for Kampung Gajah, Perak between 2004 and 2008; and had served as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry from 2013 to 2018.
