Biography
Starting his career in the public sector in 1987, he has served in the Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia, Government Investment Companies Division, Malacca State Development Authority and held key positions at the Ministry of Finance. Prior to his current position, he was the Deputy Accountant General (Operation) from October 2017 until October 2019.
He received the Global Accounting Hall of Fame Award from the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) in 2018.
He holds Professional Memberships from Malaysian Institute of Accountant (MIA), The Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy, United Kingdom (CPFA [UK]), and CPA Australia. Datuk Dr. Yacob holds a Master in Business Administration as well as a PhD in Economics from the National University of Malaysia.
