Biography

He started his career as a Management Trainee in Renong Berhad during which he was exposed to various departments including finance, management services, business development and corporate communication. Following that, he had a stint as an internal auditor at the Renong Group and dealt with various industries such as property development, construction, IT and financial services.

He was then transferred to PLUS Expressway Berhad, a company under the then Renong Group, where he was mainly involved in toll operations. Later he became a Section Manager of Section S2 in the Southern Region, which was the longest section along PLUS network. After four years as Section Manager, he was promoted to Deputy Senior Manager and transferred to the Group Managing Director’s Office of PLUS Expressway Bhd.
He was then promoted as the Head of Toll Operations, managing toll revenue in excess of RM1 billion annually and over 660 toll lanes. He then joined Pos Malaysia Berhad as the Deputy General Manager at the Group CEO’s Office. In 2008, he held the position as a General Manager at the Group CEO’s Office Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad, overseeing corporate matters and commercial initiatives.

Graduated from Monash University, Australia, En. Muhammad Nizam Alias is also an MBA holder in Techno Entrepreneurship at UTM in collaboration with Cranfield University, United Kingdom. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Islamic Finance at INCEIF – The Global University of Islamic Finance (a post-graduate university set up by the Central Bank of Malaysia specializing in Islamic Finance).


Notes

He was also General Manager at the Group CEO's office in 2008 when Prasarana was known as Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad.
