Biography
Puan Khong Mei Lin is a Senior Partner at Shook Lin & Bok. She has 30 years of experience in the areas of banking, debt restructuring, corporate and real estate and commercial transactions.
Puan Khong obtained her LL.B (Hons) degree from the University of Adelaide and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia in 1988. She started her career as a solicitor in Adelaide where she practised law for a short period of time before returned to Malaysia. She commenced her legal practice with Shook Lin & Bok upon her admission to the Malaysian Bar in 1989 and was made a partner in 1996.
Puan Khong has been involved in a broad range of banking and finance transactions including bilateral and syndicated loans, infrastructure and project financing, ship financing, offshore and cross border loan transactions as well as debt capital market work. On top of that, she is a well-equipped lawyer in giving advice in the areas of complex debt restructurings and formal schemes of arrangement.
Puan Khong is a lawyer with extensive knowledge and experience. She is also described as ‘tactful, committed, very knowledgeable’ and provides ‘detailed, high-quality advice’ in the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2019. She was also listed under the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2014 as a recommended lawyer in the area of Banking & Finance.
